Application: Electronics Potentiometer Housing

Requirements: Dimensional accuracy
High temperature resistance
Superior wear resistance against metal
Low CLTE values
Good ESD protection

Recommendation: PLASCO PDC 603LS
PPS + 30% Carbon Fibers + 13% PTFE + 2% Si

Solution: The addition of 30% carbon fibers to PPS reduces shrinkage values to +/- 0.0045.

They also provide the ESD protection and good wear and friction values.

The addition of PTFE further reduces the wear values especially against metals.

The addition of a silicone lube provides the final improvement required to pass a 1 million cycles-to-failure test. PPS offers 500 degrees F heat resistance and CLTE values approach those of metal in the final composite.
