Solution: Nylon 6/6 with an optimum loading of 33% glass fibers offers the best balance of mechanical strength with very accurate dimensional stability.

This part was designed to be symmetrical so that two parts could be snapped together.

The addition of the glass fibers produced a material with a mold shrinkage of 0.002/0.0045 "/".

This was well within the specifications asked for in the design. Nylon 6/6 offers excellent chemical resistance to most greases, oils, and chemicals found in an automotive garage environment.
